back to front baby girl (surprise) quilt

My friend, Mary, who has three little boys had a new baby two weeks ago.
Since I'm such a great friend, we spent most of her pregnancy talking about how there's no point in her having a girl now and God wouldn't do that to her, right?

So, I started a baby quilt ... featuring blue.

Turns out, God had other plans for Mary, Chris and their trio of boys ...

Stella

Yep, a girl.

As much as I think girls can love blue (my daughter does) and especially a girl with three older
brothers should probably be able to defend herself
(okay, so I probably should've just bought a hockey helmet instead).

Bye, bye blue quilt.

Hello, pink!

Fabrics:
Flutterby by Tula Pink
It's a Hoot by Momo
Backing: a flat crib sheet from Target that I purchased years ago.
Binding: Robert Kaufman basics

I love that I had all of these, although the Momo was a new charm pack, everything else was in my stash.

P.S. Scrap give-a-way is still going on. Entries accepted until Sunday!

Too cute! Love that backing - great find at Target. I'm a huge fan of sheets for backing.
