quilt camp ... in review

Back from Pink Castle Quilt Camp! Wow, it was really wonderful.
Brenda did a great time organizing it.
She has a great fabric shop Pink Castle Fabrics, check it out if you're looking for some way cool fabrics.

Having all that time to sew without having to worry about laundry, meals, rides to and from school, swim practice, band practice and basketball really made a huge difference.

I got a lot done!

I managed to finish a couple of quilts for my friend Shannon
(they aren't pictured here, I'll post about them separately).

I had the top quilt in pieces when I arrived at camp and put that together by the end.
It was a good finish and will be off to Wendy this weekend.

I participated in three of the four classes offered at camp. The blocks above are from an improv
piecing class by Heather Jones of oliveandollie. She rocks. And it was a great class.

I used some Laurie Wisburn (I think) furniture and bird fabric with some of Wendy's solids.

I even have a setting plan ... now, if I can just get what's in my head onto fabric.

I made the top two bags in Jeni's class. Jeni (in color order) has some great patterns
and this bag is definitely one of them.
It comes in about 100 sizes (maybe I'm exaggerating) and is really easy to piece.

I made the Christmas bags when I got home ... I love these fabrics, so I'm not sure
I will be able to use them for anyone else's gifts (grinchy, I know).

This is a table runner that I made during Faith's class. Faith (freshlemonquilts) is a great teacher and this block is paper pieced. I want to like paper piecing, but it's hard for me to wrap my head around. So many people in the class had four blocks.

I completed three.

And, I didn't want to swear too much, so we left it there. My daughter, Ana, picked the fabrics for it and did a great job. I can't help but think of her whenever I look at it.

I met a lot of great people at Quilt Camp. It was a ton of fun.
We stayed up too late, talked a ton and made some great friends.

It was a perfect gift from my husband to me! Thanks, Matt.
